We are grateful for the support from the many who gave to our Raisin’ Bread Giving Campaign. Although this year’s fundraiser was far different from any celebration in the past, many of our friends and neighbors were able to give.  We will be forever grateful! The difference this support makes for our women and children is tremendous. For those who have been displaced by homelessness and/or domestic violence, it could mean the difference between life and death. We could not do the work that we do without our friends in the community.

Although the challenges seem overwhelming at times, we manage to stay strong knowing there are many who share our concern for those less fortunate. The number of households we have been able to serve has been greatly affected by COVID-19 and HUD’s deconcentration initiative. However, our costs to run the shelter remain nearly the same. Our hope is that Samaritan House can remain a viable resource in the community long after COVID is under control and life returns to normal. Your support helps to make this possible.

We are happy to report that our campaign raised over $14,100, which will go toward the overall operation of our shelter. Last year alone, 12,234 meals were served and 4,078 shelter units (one person, one night) were provided for nearly 195 women and children.

We look forward to next year’s Raisin’ Bread Anniversary Fundraiser in hopes we can once again celebrate together!
