We would like to thank the many businesses, churches, families, and organizations who gave generously this Christmas and Holiday season. The women and children residing at the shelter were able to celebrate a very merry Christmas with gifts under the tree for all. During his busy day, Santa even made time for a visit with the kids! Holiday meals were made and special treats delivered by many throughout the season.

In December alone, over 35% of all in-kind donations for the year are received at the shelter. Our pantry has been resupplied with many needed food and household items. Along with the donations, we have received many personal notes and cards of encouragement and they are all greatly appreciated. We are humbled by so many that take the time to think of not only the women and children but also the staff at Samaritan House.Your words of encouragement mean a lot to us, especially during the holiday rush.

0103171029One of these notes of encouragement came from many states away from a former resident. Enjoli Baker was a resident nearly 14 years ago and shared not only her gratitude for our past support, but also her successes along with a care package for the shelter. Since leaving the shelter Enjoli has earned an Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree. She is an adjunct professor, does volunteer work, and has also started a Non-Profit ministry sending cards and care packages to sick children. For more information on her ministry work, check out her Facebook page.

It is through your partnerships and donations that we are able to provide compassion, hope and dignity to the women and children who come to Samaritan House. Thank You!
