Lima’s Samaritan House first opened its doors in 1987 to serve homeless and/or abused women and children. Since that time, we have provided shelter, hope, and guidance to literally thousands who otherwise had no safe place to go. Many in our community are not aware of the number of women and children who may be trapped in violent relationships, sleeping in abandoned buildings or cars, or forced to walk the streets with nowhere to turn.

Samaritan House is a safe haven — a place where so many have found the strength to overcome and the courage to prevail.

We believe this is reason for celebration.

Each August, we commemorate our anniversary and the mission that has carried us through 39 years of service. We remain dedicated to providing safety and stability, but without the generosity of our friends, partners, and supporters, we simply would not exist.

Join Us for an Evening of Celebration

For many years, our Anniversary Celebration has been our primary fundraiser — and a cherished opportunity to gather with friends, family, and donors for an evening of fun, music, and community.

This year’s Raisin’ Bread 39th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser will be held:

  • Wednesday, August 12th, 2026
  • 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM (Doors open at 5:00)
  • Civic Center Exhibit Hall

The evening will include:

  • High‑energy Dueling Pianos entertainment
  • A curated Silent Auction
  • Appetizers provided by Panera Bread
  • A 50/50 Drawing

The proceeds from this event help offset the operating expenses of running our three‑story, thirty‑eight‑room shelter — a place of refuge for women and children who need safety, stability, and a path forward.

Sponsorship Opportunities

If you or your business, group, church, club, or committee would like to become a sponsor or donate an auction item, we would be grateful for your partnership. Sponsorship levels include:

  • Platinum Sponsor – $1000+ Up to 8 tickets, reserved table, company name in event program
  • Gold Sponsor – $500 Up to 8 tickets, company name in event program
  • Silver Sponsor – $250 Up to 4 tickets, company name in event program
  • Friend Sponsor – $100 Up to 2 tickets, recognition at event
  • Silent Auction Donations Recognition on donated item; items due by August 1st, 2026

Tickets are $25 each and available while supplies last.
